Earlier in her Hill career, served as Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-40), where she led the Congresswoman's Homeland Appropriations Subcommittee assignment and the introduction and passage of H.R. 6 (American Dream and Promise Act). Before Congress, led federal advocacy for an immigrant rights organization. Mexican immigrant and first in her family to earn a bachelor's degree.
