Compliance and government affairs

Custom data, in detail

If the answer isn’t a row in a table.

Most data requests we get aren’t for “the staffer table.” They’re for the cross-cut nobody publishes — every staffer who served a committee chair in the 117th Congress, with their compensation arc and any privately-funded travel, joined to the FARA filings of their post-Hill employers.

We build that. Our analysts speak to your researcher, scope the cut, deliver the file in whatever shape your pipeline expects, and write a methodology memo you can cite. Turnarounds run from a few days for a tight extract to a few weeks for a multi-source reconstruction.

Pricing is project-based and starts at $2,500 for a one-shot extract.

Frequently asked

Before you write.

Where does the data come from?
House and Senate disbursement records, the LD-203 and LD-2 lobbying filings, FARA registrations, and the privately-funded travel disclosures filed under the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act. Every record on the site links back to its source filing.
How fresh is it?
We refresh from primary sources daily. Quarterly disclosure releases (compensation, travel) are reconciled the day they are posted by the Clerk of the House and the Secretary of the Senate.
Can I redistribute the data?
Researcher and Custom Data plans include a license to publish derived analysis with attribution. Wholesale redistribution of the underlying database is a separate conversation — write us.
Do you offer academic or nonprofit pricing?
Yes. Universities, libraries, and 501(c)(3) newsrooms qualify for a discount on the Researcher plan. Note your affiliation when you write.
