Deputy Director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs during the Biden administration (2021-2023), where she became the highest-ranking Palestinian-American woman to serve in the Executive Office of the President. Previously served for 15 years as Deputy Chief of Staff and Floor Director for U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), managing the Senate Democratic whip operation. Early career roles included Judiciary Subcommittee aide, Floor Counsel, and Research Director. Co-author of Inside Congress: A Guide for Navigating the Politics of the House and Senate Floors (Brookings Institution, 2017). Term member of the Council on Foreign Relations; fellow of the Truman National Security Project and New Leaders Council.
