Legislative Assistant and Senior Policy Lead for Transportation and Public Safety to U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA). Over nine years in Sen. Cantwell's office, Mehyar played a pivotal role in developing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, securing more than $10 billion in federal transportation funding for Washington state including $2.1 billion for the Interstate 5 Bridge Replacement Project. He worked closely with the Senate Commerce Committee and major federal agencies including USDOT, FAA, and DOJ. Previously served as field director for Sen. Cantwell's 2018 reelection campaign in Southwest Washington.
