Amending Executive Order No. 11157 as it Relates to the Definition of"Field Duty''

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 402(e)(1) of title 37, United States Code, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Amendments to Executive Order No. 11157.

(a) Section 303(e) of Executive Order No. 11157 of June 22, 1964, as amended, is further amended by striking out ``-- (1) the member is under orders with troops operating against an enemy, actual or potential; or (2)''. (b) Section 401(b) of Executive Order No. 11157 of June 22, 1964, as amended, is further amended by striking out ``service by a member under orders with troops operating against an enemy, actual or potential, or'' in the first sentence.

Sec. 2. Effective Date. The amendments to Executive Order No. 11157 made in this order shall take effect at 12:01 a.m., eastern daylight time on October 28, 1994.
